Kevin Pokorney

Kevin Pokorney is a self-employed IT and Website Development Consultant offering his services to several non-profit organizations as well as a few small businesses and medical practices. Kevin also serves as the Associate Director for The Connection Helpline, a telephone ministry he co-founded with his wife Dawn in September 2003. Prior to his work as an independent consultant, Kevin worked as a senior engineer with IBM, Fujistu LTD, and Ampex Corporation. He also spent 10 years with the Air National Guard playing clarinet in two Air Force Band organizations.

Throughout Kevin's technical and military careers he studied and applied communication skills in leadership roles that would eventually be used again when he and his wife co-founded The Connection Helpline. The Connection Helpline is a non-profit telephone helpline offering free help for individuals to develop plans and achieve resolution for a wide variety of stressful problems through active listening, and referral to community resources when appropriate. Kevin has also received training as a Stephen Ministry leader (through Stephen Ministries), Listening and Caring Skills leader (studying under Dr. John Savage with LEADplus Consultants), and he and his wife have also volunteered for several years in the past as a lay counselors in the People Helper Ministry program of the First Baptist Church of Leesburg, Florida.
